Stops working every 5 min, have to start over with adds again

Tried to watch a show. It plays about 5 commercials at the start and typically one of the commercials freezes. Only choice stop show and play it again - with it starting from the beginning with the adds. If you try to forward to the middle of the show it again shows all the commercials. With all the freezing and restarting I saw about 10 min of the show in 45 minutes - the rest was all commercials being played again and again. Hate those commercials (same 5 played over & over) - certainly not going to buy those products. Use apps for cbs, abc, nbc - they all work fine.
